One Club, many types of riding.
Fast, slow, on-road or off, competitively or just enough to justify that Saturday morning trip to the Java joint -- the MBC does it all. Check out our ride descriptors below to help find a ride to suit you.
Information on scheduled club rides is available on our ride calendar. Cancellation of club rides due to inclement weather will be posted on the ride calendar.

Ride Descriptors:

TERRAIN: 1 - 10 from flat to 20% grades or worse.

PACE: Family (under 12), Easy (12 - 14), Moderate (14 - 16), Brisk (16 - 19 avg.) and Training (+19 avg.)

DISTANCE: The distance of the ride will be posted on the calendar.

DROP: You need to know the route. Faster riders will not wait for you. If you can't fix your bike on the road, bring a cell phone to call for a ride. I recommend the buddy system (at least 2 together) always, but that is up to you.

NO DROP: The group (or a portion of it by agreement) waits at stop signs and turns for all other riders. Exchange cell numbers before you leave and let someone know if you stopped for any reason and if you abandon the ride so they are not looking/waiting for you.

MEMBERSHIP: Club membership is highly encouraged. Guests are welcome to join club rides. You do not need to be a member to join a club ride. You can join the club online or download a membership form and mail it in with your dues.

RIDE POLICY: Good manners, common courtesy, obeying traffic laws and safe cycling practice, wearing helmets, showing up with a safe bike in working condition are all required for club rides. People who can't adhere to these simple policies will be asked to leave and ride somewhere on their own. You are responsible to determine your fitness to attempt any ride, bring needed tools, spares, fluid, food, clothing, etc.

Please at least know how to patch/change/inflate your own flat tubes. Practice at home before you try to figure it out on the road somewhere. Know how your air pump or CO2 inflator functions. Ask any more experienced rider for advice any time. They are almost always glad to share what they know with newer riders.
